Our Last Few Weeks......

Ok....so no promises to tons of posts on here anymore!! My life has become a little busy in the
last few weeks, so I'm going to try to sum up the bigger events of our summer in a few short paragraphs. Here we go.....
We had a lot of family time this summer. Even though Drew was busy with work, we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the sun....oh ya.....all 3 weeks of it. Oh well.

OCC choppers came to the new Bethany South!!

Michael W. Smith @ the Puyallup Fair!!

Hope and Renae at Veggie Tales Live

Steven Curtis Chapman was amazing!!

Jaxon trying to stay dry at Grandpa's golf tournament. We were drenched by the 9th hole!!

Pretty self explanitory, I think. ( :

The big catch of the summer!! Collins 11" bass!!

The train ride in Elbe, WA.

A bit scary on this bridge!!

Collin learned how to do back flips on the tramp!! Whoo hoo!!!

My kids are way too old. I'm sure most of you feel the same about yours!! This is the year when I start having a few hours of the day to myself. It's been great and lonely at the same time!! I'm sure I'll get used to it though....( : Hope you all had as great of a summer as we did!!

Hello??? Is anybody out there????

I'm really not even sure if anyone reads these anymore, since I haven't written in SOOOO long!! I really got caught up in the world of Facebook-ing, (ask my husband..he'll tell you!!) and have LOVED getting back in touch with friends from my past. I've literally found people that I haven't seen or heard from in 20 years!! I have kind of a scary good memory, so I've been finding people that I went to 2nd grade with at my private school in Colorado.....people from my old church.....and people I see every week!! ( : LOVE IT!!! It is a total time waster, though. I can get on Facebook and spend and hour just looking at people's pics and commenting on their current status.

Sooooo.....if you haven't seen me HERE in a while, you will most likely find me on Facebook. Come get addicted with me!!!

I'M BACK!!.......JUST FOR A MINUTE...

So, as you can see, I haven't posted in almost a month!! Life has been busy, and....to be honest...I've been caught up in the world of Facebooking!! It really isn't anything amazing, but it's been CRAZY how many people I've found from my past!! Some I haven't talked to since 9th grade, others I literally didn't know if they were alive or not. (I had some friends with some pretty crazy stories!) It's been so great re-connecting with these people and seeing the awesome things God is doing in their lives!!

So, for all of you out there that have people you've been wondering about or just want another way to play dumb games online, you have to check out Facebook. Much safer than MySpace (in my opinion). I even got my husband to have a profile!! Now that's something you don't see everyday!!

I will be blogging again soon.....hopefully today in fact. I do miss it. I've lost touch with all my blogging buddies!!!

Summertime!! Finally!!!!

Thank the Lord Almighty that summer is finally here!!! The last couple of weeks have been heavenly!! The kids have been outside constantly and enjoying every minute. I haven't blogged in a while, so I'm going to combine a bunch into this one.

First off......SWIMMING LESSONS!!

This was Jaxon's first time hitting the pool without one of us being in there with him. He did so well!!! In the first 5 minutes of the first lesson, the teacher had them on their stomachs doing front floats, faces in the water and all!! I think he just did a lot better since it wasn't me teaching him. Funny how that works..

Gotta love the shark goggles!!

Maddie has taken several sessions of swimming over the last couple of years. She now has graduated to the AB1 (Advanced Beginner 1) level. She is doing front and back stroke across the entire length of the pool from the shallow end to the diving board end. They are learning how to dive, and focusing on their side breathing. She was really surprised to see one of her old friends/neighbors, Olivia, in her class this session!!

Her long time buddy, Brian, was also in her class. This one was planned by me and Brian's mom, Deanna.

The 4th of July....

Originally, Collin had a baseball tournament over the 4th weekend so we had planned on staying home. A couple of days before this, the tournament was canceled. We were all bummed, but glad not to have to be stuck in Puyallup if we didn't want to be. Collin was in the Spokane Hoopfest the weekend before, so I think he was glad to take a weekend off, too. We had received an invite to go to the Gagnon cabin for the day, but at the last minute decided not to. The thought of leaving Hoodsport and driving home at midnight didn't sound fun. So, instead we stayed home. We started out with a little golf at High Cedars on the driving range. We've taken the kids there before, but this time we noticed Maddie had really picked up the game. (More on that later.) After that, Maddie and I drove around for an hour and a half to find the parachute army guys at any fireworks stand in Pierce county. We DID end up finding them and bought them as well as tanks and sparklers. We aren't much of the "big blow-up" sort. We let everyone else on our block do that! All the Nelson boys, John, Jason and Dave, came over along with Ruth, Jason's wife, to watch the crazy show over Lake Tapps and in our neighborhood. With only a few mishaps and no casualties we had a great time!! If you've never been around here for the 4th or New Years, it becomes a war zone!! People actually launch fireworks from their boats and one family has a show that is seriously fairground quality. It's amazing!!

Since then, we've spent several days in our little pool as well as friends' pools.

Jaxon and Julia his cousin, being goofy.

Shark girl and Froggy boy!!!

They loved playing their version of checkers on this giant towel!!

My tough boys!

Swimming at the Bastrons

Last night was so great. The weather was perfect so Collin and Jaxon decided they wanted to sleep in the tent on the trampoline. To my complete surprise, they did great!! I really thought Jaxon would freak out at some point, or Collin would get frustrated with him for kicking him in the head or something. But NO!! It went great!! Of course they were awake by 6:00 since the sun is up so soon, but they had a great time!

We've been busy almost every day!! Next week VBS and Seattle Baseball Academy camp for Collin. Then back to swimming and golf!!
I LOVE THE SUMMER!!!

GOD'S FIREWORKS...

Anyone else lose any sleep last night? Was this the best 4th of July show or what?!? We stood in front of our house for a long time just in awe. How awesome is our God!! I couldn't even see these trees until the sky would light up. I must have taken 50 shots with only a couple of the actual bolts in the picture. This one just looks like the sky opened up and exploded!! The thunder rocked our house the entire night, and the rain came down in cupfulls not just drops. SOOO COOL!!!
